WNEP’s Community Wellness campaign promotes health and well-being in northeast and central Pennsylvania. Through our partnership with Geisinger, we bring awareness and information to keep the communities we serve healthy and informed.
This is a belief that’s kept Geisinger going for over 100 years. Founded by Abigail Geisinger noticing the needs of her central Pennsylvania community in 1915, she started a new trend in healthcare. One that put her community first. One that puts you first today.
Over the last century, Geisinger has grown from one hospital in rural Pennsylvania into a health and wellness organization that includes nine hospital campuses, a 550,000-member health plan, two research centers and the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. Geisinger has nearly 24,000 employees and more than 1,600 employed physicians working together to bring preventive health and advanced medical care to the people who depend on them.

Geisinger Pharmacy
Did you know Geisinger has a pharmacy? From over-the-counter medications to prescriptions, there’s a Geisinger Pharmacy right in your neighborhood. Geisinger Pharmacy locations offer free home delivery or no-contact curbside pickup to keep you safe.
Geisinger even offers a mail-order pharmacy, delivering Geisinger Health Plan members’ medications right to their door. Its pharmacy app lets you manage your orders right from your computer tablet or phone — with all your information password-protected and secure.

Telemedicine virtual doctor visits
Virtual visits let you see your doctor from the comfort of your own home — you can even stay in your pajamas. From routine care to specialty care, Geisinger offers telemedicine appointments that allow you to connect with your doctor from anywhere. Whether you live far away, or your busy schedule makes it difficult to fit in appointments with your doctor, telemedicine can help make staying on top of your health easier.

Geisinger flu shots
It’s not too late to get your flu shot. In fact, Geisinger makes getting your flu vaccine more convenient than ever this flu season. Make an appointment with your doctor, visit a clinic or just show up at one of their walk-in locations — no appointment necessary. Whichever option you choose, your flu shot from Geisinger will be at no cost to you. So, make sure you and your family are protected this flu season. It’s never been easier.

Geisinger Gold Medicare Advantage
Geisinger Gold offers everything regular Medicare offers and more. Many plans even cover routine dental and vision services and come with hearing aid and eyewear benefits. The costs associated with Geisinger Gold can be as low as $0 monthly premiums, $0 deductibles and $0 on prescription drug copays with annual limits on copays for medical services. More benefits. Geisinger Gold Medicare Advantage HMO and PPO plans are offered by Geisinger Health Plan/Geisinger Indemnity Insurance Company/Geisinger Quality Options, Inc., health plans with a Medicare contract.

Geisinger 65 Forward
A new kind of healthcare designed for people age 65 and older is here at Geisinger 65 Forward. Appointments with your doctor last longer — up to an hour. Lab work and other testing is done right on site and each location features state-of-the-art exercise equipment and offers a variety of classes, lectures and opportunities to make new friends. Right now, we have Geisinger 65 Forward Health Centers in Kingston, Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, West Hazleton and Shamokin Dam, with more locations coming soon.

LIFE Geisinger
Older adults can get the support they need to continue living at home through LIFE Geisinger. This unique program offers various services, including adult day centers and in-home care, to help people live independently. The coordination of care by the LIFE Geisinger team is provided with no gap in services, offering relief and support to caregivers.
MyCode
The MyCode® Community Health Initiative is the world’s largest community health initiative analyzing the DNA of patient-participants. As of January 2020, more than 250,000 people have enrolled, and Geisinger’s goal is to give every patient the opportunity to participate. With such a large body of data, we hope to make healthcare better for you, your family, your community and the world by finding ways to diagnose medical conditions earlier.
Geisinger Fresh Food Farmacy
People in our communities who need nutritious food and information about healthy diets can get both through Geisinger’s Fresh Food Farmacy®. With its nationally recognized food-as-medicine approach, the Fresh Food Farmacy helps combat high obesity rates, prediabetes and diabetes by providing “prescriptions” for fresh, healthy food to those most in need. People are empowered to manage their medical conditions through food-related behavior and lifestyle changes.
