One hurt in fire at Mohegan Pennsylvania hotel

The resort's sprinkler system helped contain the fire, according to the fire chief.

LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — One person was taken to a hospital after a hotel room fire at a resort in Luzerne County.

Crews were called to Mohegan Pennsylvania just after noon for reports of a fire in a hotel room on the fifth floor.

One person was taken to hospital with burns.

The hotel was evacuated for a short time.

Plains Township Fire Chief Mark Ritsick says the sprinkler system in the room helped to knock down the fire. The room has water and fire damage.

A state police fire marshal will investigate the cause.
