Lisa Washington joined WNEP in November 2020, as co-anchor of the evening newscasts.

Prior to Newswatch 16, Lisa worked as an anchor/reporter at KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh. She earned an Emmy for her work with WQED in Pittsburgh, where she served as a host, moderator, and narrator. Lisa has also worked at several TV stations across the country including KPIX-TV in San Francisco and WMC-TV in Memphis, Tennessee. She began her career as a reporter trainee at WTTG-TV in Washington, D.C.

Lisa is originally from South Carolina. She is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Media Arts/Journalism. Lisa earned a Master’s degree in corporate communications from Georgetown University, in Washington, D.C.

Lisa and her husband are the proud parents of a daughter and son.

When she’s not working, Lisa enjoys volunteering, reading, and finding new ways to keep her favorite plants, phalaenopsis orchids, in bloom.
